METLEN Energy & Metals, a leading global industrial and energy company, has commenced construction of the Immingham B Power Station, a VPI development project designed to enhance Great Britain’s energy security. This state-of-the-art facility will provide crucial backup power during peak electricity demand and when intermittent renewable sources cannot meet the country’s energy needs. By supporting grid stability, Immingham B will play a key role in the transition to a lower-carbon economy.
Construction began in July 2023 and is expected to take approximately 24 months to complete. Once operational, the power station will be managed by the energy company VPI and will have the capacity to generate instant electricity for 150,000 households.
